Our job is to help a small business owner or bookkeeper quickly understand which app fits which situation, and what it really costs. This is how we put our comparisons together.
1. Official sources first
For every app we compare, we read the vendor’s pricing page, help centre and the relevant accounting-platform marketplace listing (for example the Xero App Store). We link to those sources in each article so you can check them yourself.
2. Prices are dated
Every article shows the date we last checked pricing. We quote prices in the currency the vendor shows, and we say whether they include GST or other tax when the vendor makes that clear. Prices change often, and introductory offers come and go, so always confirm before buying.
3. Honest about testing
Some comparisons are based on hands-on use. Others are based on research into public documentation, pricing and published user reviews. Each article says which applies. We don’t invent testing, reviewers, customer numbers or statistics.
4. What we compare
- Which accounting platforms and plans the app supports
- How pricing scales (per user, per employee, per order, per entity)
- Inclusions, limits and paid add-ons
- Free trials, minimum spends and contract terms
- Which type of business each option suits best
5. Independence from commissions
We may earn a commission from some vendors in future. That doesn’t affect which products we include, how we rank them or what we say about them. We include products that don’t pay us when they’re the right fit, including tools already bundled with your accounting software.
6. Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, email [email protected] and we’ll review it and update the page.
